Mark K. Evans, Psy.D., Psychologist specializes in the treatment and neuropsychological evaluation of children, adolescents, and college students who are experiencing academic, behavioral, or emotional difficulties. Helping young people and parents understand strengths and weakness through intellectual, educational, and neuropsychological testing provides the necessary information toward developing a child’s potential for lifelong satisfaction and success. SPECIALIZATION & THERAPY PROCESS

The major types of concerns with which Dr. Evans works can be summarized as difficulties with the Underachievement Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, reading disorders (including learning disabilities, and Dyslexia), and emotional/behavioral problems. These types of concerns emerge during childhood or adolescence and can result in significant dissatisfaction, hopelessness, and negative interactions between a child, their family, and/or school. Treatment of these children requires a sustained commitment to the child and family. Dr. Evans is professionally committed to helping children and their families achieve satisfaction and success.

Neuropsychological testing helps identify specific patterns of strengths and weaknesses a child manifests, so that weaknesses can be addressed and strengths built upon. Developing hope and optimism is often the most critical step toward a child developing positive change. Hope and optimism can only be built upon truth and understanding. Dr. Evans helps families accomplish this by working with parents, children, and other professionals to improve patterns of communication and understanding, while also working with schools to help individualize and target a given child’s educational needs.
